Occupational Therapist
Veena Raj joined ClearView in May 2021. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) in 2011. At the university, she was a member of the mental health research lab and interned at Labre Center in St. Louis, a group home for homeless men with mental illnesses.
Veena has 9+ years of experience working in Texas day programs for adults with acquired brain injuries and is certified as a brain injury specialist and a stroke rehab specialist. These roles involved providing cognitive and physical interventions to maximize independence.
In the OT process, the activity or “occupation” itself is the treatment and provides insight into the challenges individual experiences, how they manifest in his/her daily routine, and how they can be overcome. Veena approaches treatment rooted in the belief that all individuals can lead meaningful and productive lives given the appropriate tools and support, regardless of their diagnoses. She customizes her “hands-on” interventions, which may include self-care, household management, financial management, health and wellness, social interaction, leisure, education, and employment.
